LA Concert postponed! New Album Title revealed!

Hello lovely friends,

I am officially stuck in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York.  All the roads are flooded, power lines down, entire bridges washed away.  I’m safe and grateful for being safe, but sad that the LA concert tonight at Hotel Cafe has been canceled.  My town has no power or water or phone lines, and lots of flooding and damage, a small hiccup in the overall happenings up the coast.

Luckily, I really enjoy candlelit rooms and starry skies out in the country… and I filled up a few big glass jugs with water so I’m fine.

Sending love to all the people who are dealing with damage.  Please take good care of yourself and your loved ones.

Will let you know as soon as we can reschedule, I am really looking forward to sharing the new songs with you all, and the band we had together for LA tonight was a really really special one.  Will make it happen again soon.  And the NYC show at the Lincoln Center on 9/22 is still on as scheduled.

xx

p.s. The new album title is “A Common Case of Disappearing.”  The album has two major themes throughout it: Reflections and Light.  A common case of disappearing is about what we discover in reflections of ourselves and others.  How we run away from light, search for it again, learn to find our way without it, and ultimately find a guide from within.  It’s an ongoing cycle of the brightening and fading and rediscovering of our own true self.  And using disappearing as a way of dealing with things that we don’t otherwise know how to deal with.  Disappearing from the world into the self, disappearing from the self into the world or another person.  And through this cycle of disappearing and reappearing, searching and losing and finding again, we polish up our mirror and hold it to the light to see more clearly and reflect back and forth with others.  And we hold the mirror into light from different angles to see other sides of the world around us that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to see from where we are standing.   And when the sun’s light disappears, the moon reflects a softer version of its light down for us to see….

Aaahhhh, sweet morning ramblings.  I am excited to share the new music with you (if you can’t tell).

Be well out there.  Big humongous love.  xx
